   Dance   

​​​During their experience, dancers:​

• Gain significant knowledge of dance elements,    

  principles, and concepts

 

• Apply knowledge, skills, and techniques of

  dance in formal staged presentations

 

• Build critical thinking skills by examining the

   reasons for a dancers' actions by analyzing

   individual responses to lessons and performances,

   and by interpreting the intent of the choreography.

 

•  Learn to conceptualize dance as it pertains to

   history by exploring how dance genres relates to

   the cultural time and geographical place of its

   origins.

 

• Learn the communication methods of various media

   by examining live and pre-recorded performances.

 

•  Work with others through partnering assignments

   and peer reviewing
